Syros (Σύρος)
The main attraction is the lively port town of Ermoupolis, capital of the Cyclades and named after Hermes the god of trade.
Ermoupolis is an interesting working town and port with many beautiful neo-classical mansions. There is an excellent bus service to the many laid back beaches round the island.
