Plakias (Πλακιάς)
A nice village on the coast south of Rethymnon. It has a long sandy beach and has become a popular tourist resort, without spoiling the feel of the village. Lots to do and see in the local area.
Fantastic mountainous scenery and a good base for exploring some of the spectacular gorges.
