Meganissi (Μεγανήσι) - A beautiful, quiet, wooded, island just off the coast of Lefkas. It has only three
villages, some lovely walks, very little traffic, and many small bays for swimming. It is idyllic in many ways but not without some contradictions. The traditional way of life is still much in evidence
but there are holiday rental villas springing up all over the place which are very popular with Brits. A major private development is being planned by a London firm of architects for the 7km long peninsular
on the south of the island.
